Salvation
God Speaks the truth in words so pure:
'Tis sweet to taste their Life.
From Heaven's mansions steadfast-sure
They raise us up on High.
God's Spirit-Word doth teach us His Unity to rise
While Jesus' arms receive us in glories past the skies.
Though times of sin doth make me fear
I'll miss such joy sublime,
I plead His Blood that's ever near--
Upon me all the time.
His Hope that cannot leave me despite my inward cries,
Shall raise, and bless, and keep me in Him mine only prize.
Bless Christ oh God His precious sight:
From Heaven He came down
To bear my sins without respite
And join me in death's ground ...
And when I did despise Him to die in sin with me,
'Twas soon my soul revived when He raised to Heaven's Seat.
My sin, cruel sin, my gross respite
Has infinitely shamed
The Lord of Hosts whose church shines bright
By Jesus' Love contained.
He took my sin that pierced Him and nailed it to the Tree,
And bowed His head in rev'rance, and joined the Lord to me.
