A Christmas Acoustic song
I was sitting in Colonial Hills Church this Sunday, listening to the music and worshipping.
The guitarist began playing 'O Come All Ye Faithful', and the Acoustic feel of the song really struck me.
I immediately began to think of how the Shepherds and Wise men came to this King, and how we all, as Beggars, must come before this King.
Before I even sat down I was writing words in my head to this song.
The Gift
(C)2008 Christopher M Solaas
A lonely vigil kept by shepherds in the night
Ten million angels bring them news of hope and light!
They must run
And see this wonder, just as they were told
In a manger, in a stable, in the cold!
In the cold!
A band of wise men come
To bow before this King
With gold and frankincense and myrrh for offering
Do they know
This baby child has brought a gift more rare
Than all the riches they could carry there?
Could carry there?
Oh come, let us adore Him!
Oh come, let us adore Him!
Oh come, let us adore Him!
Christ the Lord!
The call has come to us
To come from near and far
Following angels, or a shepherd or a star!
A band of Beggars,
We bring our empty lives before this King
To receive the Gift this Christmas night will bring!
This night will bring!
