Story behind the song
Syra wanted to perform a song that touched on her uninhibited side. We knew going in that the song had to have something special in order to make it work the right way. Our goal was to create a club track that was both fun and more empowering than degrading. Striking that balance in the lyrics and delivery took some work ( we logged 72 hours in the studio just record the vocals). The end result was a song that, we feel, tells the story of a young lady who decides to let her hair down in the club and do her own thing. Another side note: The feature rapper on this song is me, Brian K. I was a reluctant guest on this rap for two reasons; (1) I am not a performer in the least bit nor do I have the desire to do much more than write and produce. (2) I don't use profanity in my normal life. Those are two things I had to get over in order for this song to come across the right way. The song was recorded entirely at On 2 Productions Studio in St. Louis, Mo. and mastered in New York city by Ed Vinatea. Enjoy.
