It's another year when I'll be voting for nobody. Special thanks to Janet McKee from The Jim Sumpter Show, for providing the inspiration and some of the lyrics for this parody.
In the greatest country on the face of the earth, I am amazed that we can't attract better people to run for President. I don't like either of the major candidates (see my John McCain parody on this page).
The Great Pretender
New lyrics by Steve Bryant
O -o-o-o-o-o-o O-Bama is the Great Pretender
Pretending he's already won
We know it's not real
But he's got his own Seal
And doesn’t cling to his Bible or gun.
O -o-o-o-o-o-o O-Bama is the Great Pretender
He thinks that he’s really great.
He says, “Check the files,
I was born in the isles"
Of Hawaii, our 57 (or 58? 59th?) state
Too real is the feeling that he is a savior.
He says he smoked dope, but won’t explain his behavior.
O -o-o-o-o-o-o O-Bama is the Great Pretender.
Claims he won’t play the race card.
Says it’s a bitter pill,
He’s not on the dollar bill.
Sometimes, he tries too hard.
Trying to catch us off guard.
Too real is his true lack of leadership.
And Reverend Wright should have been a fatal slip.
O -o-o-o-o-o-o O-Bama is the Great Pretender.
He thinks that he’s doing fine.
He’s his own worst enemy,
Thinks that he’s John Kennedy.
Always saying, “The whole world is mine.”
Pretending that he is divine.
