Story behind the song
This song is basically taking the piss out of goths. I was never one myself, though I was a teenage nihilist and was guilty of a number of the sins described in the lyrics.
Lyrics
Tragedy is bourgeois Vanity is a game Integrity is pointless All these sheeple are the same Conformity is death But my uniform is ironic I'm so detached yes I am so cool I'm virtually catatonic I call myself an individual But I'm easy to stereotype I read about the Will to Power But I'm too scared to commit to life My existence is so tragic My vanity defines myself I have no sense of purpose so I let myself drift I'm the same as everyone else But I am so pale and interesting I am so pale and interesting I am so pale and interesting I'm a cynic, I'm a poet and I'm full of shite
