My Eulogy for a friend
Written by Edward A Gowens 2008
Early this morning I received a phone call from a friend telling me the very sad news that we have lost one of our greatest friends in the country and Gospel music business
This man was a true friend to everyone and what you saw, was what you got with him. He never tried to be anyone but the humble man and friend he was to us all.
He always had the time to sit and talk to a stranger or a friend. He would laugh with you and not at you, and he would also cry with you. This is the mark of a true friend. And he never turned away anyone who was in need.
He did so much for all of the Independent music artists everywhere. He was a man with a loving family and thousands of friends and fans from all over the world.
He has helped so many in his short time here on earth and was loved by all.
One of his greatest loves was doing things for our veterans. He just never seemed to stop. After long days of hard work at his day job, he would come home and work for hours on end, on all of the great plans he had in the works for these great military heroes in our Veteran’s homes.
He was the greatest Johnny Cash fan this world has ever seen. Now he will have the great honor of meeting Johnny and June in Heaven as he touches the face of Jesus.
There is no doubt in my mind where he is right now and I hope to shake his hand someday in Heaven and say “ You are my friend and thank you for being there for us all DJ Tommy Dean” May God Bless you and You will never be forgotten
amen
