This just one of those tunes that came together very quickly. Mark walked into the Recording Studio during the Spring 2007 AVALANCHE Sessions with this one almost in this final form. We worked out some arrangement details...rehearsed and recorded this one...all in a couple of days time. Although I originally wasn't overly enthusiastic about this track...I have found that it has really grown on me over time...and that it reflects a lot of the elements that best define us as a band. This one has a lot of Mark Easton's songwriting stamp on it...especially in the lyrics and vocals (which are all Mark).
Maybe it was because Mark sang all the vocals, but for some reason, Mark wanted me to handle all of the guitar solos on this one...so I got to have some fun with this song as a guitarist, and hopefully you guys will like the end result of this collaboration that has been at the heart of Avalanche since the band formed in 1977. Thanks for listening!
