Story behind the song
More or less what was running through my head while playing at a Borders store
Lyrics
I was playing in a bookstore in the cafe in a bookstore It has a cafe like everybookstore does. With the readers sipping quietly it's kind of like a library but with a different sort of caffinated buzz. I wonder as I'm playing if the words that I am saying disturbed the readers as they read. Or if my words set the stage for the words down on the page creating a brand new kind of story in their heads. CH: I sing O-h my life is passing like a train she hears O-h her pulse was racing like a train as he slipped the tattered fabric from her shoulders. O-h a brand new message in the brain that was unlike one that anyone ever told her. Then I met the bookstore owner he said I really like that song in which you said your life was melting - splashing like the rain. As I considered by rebuttal, he said "y'know like Oz and the witch and the puddle" and felt the use of arguing trickle down the drain. CH: I sing O-h my life is passing like a train he hears O-h her life was splashing like the rain as he left without a word over his shoulder. O-h a brand new message in the brain that was unlike one that anyone ever told her. Bridge: I hope you like this song, cause we're making it up as we go along... At the pornographic bookstore heard a song about a book whore at the concert read a novel in sonata form. All these messages to my brain the words are pulsing through my veins I'm addicted and I got to get some more. CH: O-h my life is passing like a train O-h the words are pulsing through my veins I'm addicted and I got to get some more.
