Story behind the song
BACKGROUND
St. John (John H. Hampton, Jr.), was born in Fayetteville, TN and later moved to Emelle, AL. He was exposed to various types of music during his early childhood, but his greatest interest was in rap. His passion in this art form led him to begin writing original songs at the age of 12. Eventually he fully committed his life to Jesus Christ from which he drew inspiration to write “Christian rap” songs.
Combining his love of the Lord and his musical talent allows St. John to reach more people while providing a real sense of purpose for his life.
St. John currently resides in Huntsville, AL and is married to Vananda L. Hampton. His three sons are Cameron, Zacchaeus and Johnathan. St. John currently attends Victory World Outreach Ministries where he serves as an ordained Elder. He has served over six years in the State of Alabama Educational System.
