Story behind the song
Special thanks to Pr. Mike Dalton for inspiring me to write "He Cares." "They are at their wit's end, then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble and He bringeth them out of their distresses." Psalm 107: 27 & 28
Lyrics
He Cares As a young man I walked as a prodigal son, Falls and failures came one by one Then as I was sinking in dark despair, I heard Jesus calling, “My child, I care.” (Chorus) “I care when you falter, I care when you fail; But all of your efforts are to no avail. Just let me be the potter and you become the clay, With my strong hand I will guide you each step of the way.” My friend if you are walking a path of your own, There’s nothing but heartache at every turn. Just reach out to Jesus when you’ve lost your way, He’s a friend who loves you and I hear Him say: (Repeat Chorus) (Coda) He cares when you falter, He cares when you fail; When all of your efforts are to no avail. Just let Him be the potter and you become the clay, Let Him mold you and make you in His likeness today.
