Story behind the song
I started writing this song on the way to a gig with the idea that no matter how bad things get, you can aways start again.
Lyrics
verse 1 When you're feeling kind of low and a man comes on the news, he says "we're in a real mess", then you know we're to lose and you know you’d better pray for, forty days of rain. For those black clouds to come on over, just to wash our blues away. verse 2 I can find a friend inside a bottle, or I can take a little pill, buy a gun and get my own back, but I rather think I will... Send away for forty days of rain, I don't care to buy no bullets, to blow my blues away. verse 3 When your world is all in pieces and the bailiff’s at the door, to break apart your happy home, and you can't take any more. Relax.... take it easy, don't even think about the pain. I see black clouds a’ coming over, to wash our blues away.
