Movement 3 of Voices in the Wilderness
Originally this was to be a setting of the first stanza of "And Death Shall Have No Dominion" by Dylan Thomas. However, the contractual complexities of using this poem were too much for me. So, I wrote my own words instead.
And Death shall have no dominion (repeat)
Dead and ghostly
They are swept up,
Up, in the beating of wings
and the dances of stars.
When the flesh falls away
and the worms have their fill,
Their spirits dance free
with the currents of Time.
Their eyes shall see
What can't be seen.
Though they drown in dark visions,
Their eyes will wash clean.
And Death shall have no Dominion.
