Story song about a vision, a dream that's destroyed by the enemy -- and God's triumph. Sung by the talented and unique artist, Keith Rowe - http://www.soundclick.com/bands/took-the-red-pill
This was written during a friend's concert last year. She had a tough time with family issues, job loss, stress disorders - it was a very difficult year for her --and out of this year - a real desert - she had this wonderful, wonderful concert - very moving - with new material from before and during the desert experience
Rivers in the sand
©Deb Rempel and Keith Rowe
V1
Finally before me, a valley of dreams
A world of blessings God prepared for me
I rushed to enter and shouted praise to Him
I did not notice the serpent had crept in
V2
I watched in horror as satan's wicked hand
Crushed the beauty, ground it into sand
I asked my Father, had evil won at last?
And I heard creation ring
As God laughed
Heard the rolling thunder of God’s laugh
Chorus
Rising from the desert
At the Lord's command
Like resurrection morning
Rivers in the sand
Flowing out of nothing
Dead and hopeless land
Rising from the desert grave
Were rivers in the sand
(GOD MADE) rivers in the sand
V3
I began to see the beauty of God's plan
How He had chosen to withdraw His hand
And even though the snake had had it's way
I saw God's triumphant power
That day...
Saw the mighty power of God’s rain/reign.
Chorus
Bridge
I knelt beside the water
And drank deep of God's grace
And there in the wasteland
My voice rose up in praise
Praise!
Chorus
