I was on my jogging round down by the waterside, and there is a famous swedish singer/songwriter who often is powerwalking there, ( Ulf Lundell) he quit drinking some years ago and is now a healthy man...nothing strange about that, I see him now and then, but last spring when I passed him, this song just started going on in my head. I had do run home and write it down!
Late down at the public bar
I have a blurry mind of beer
He leans across the table
Asks a question that is clear
Never go for a sober man
If you are a drunk yourself
Never go for a sober man
If you are a drunk yourself
He wakes me in the morning
says let's go for a power walk
Now I know that he is crazy
Cause I'd throw up if I talked
By the time that he gets back
I've started crawling out of bed
I'm dying for a cold beer
He offers carrot juice instead
Never go for a sober man
If you are a drunk yourself
Never go for a sober man
If you are a drunk yourself
A few lazy hours later
It is another foggy day
He says come on now honey
Let's go to the church and pray
Never go for a sober man
If you are a drunk yourself
Never go for a sober man
If you are a drunk yourself
Now I've served a drinkers wisdom
And you've swalloved it with beer
But it's you who are the drunkards here
And you have everything to fear
You'd better go for a sober man
If you are a drunk yourself
You'd better go for a sober man
If you are a drunk yourself
