The image for me is standing atop a high mountain. And all is still, silent, white, crystalline. The air is clear, the sky blue and sunny, and I can see for miles a beautiful vista.

Story behind the song
I listened to a friend play some songs for piano ands voice by Samuel Barber and was taken with their beauty. This inspired me to try my hand at some piano music -- Ice Mountain, The Lovely Fading Rose, and Laughing.
