Story behind the song
Pahoehoe ("pa-hoi-hoi") is a type of basaltic lava characteristic of a lot of a lot of volcanoes, noteably those in Hawaii. Pahoehoe forms fluid, ropey textures. It's very neet to watch in motion. I've wanted to do one like this for a long time and had a blast finally putting it together in sequence with Dolabella and Iodoform. Funny thing is, sometimes as a volcanoe is building up, it produces very rhythmic seismic "thumps". I heard an audio render of that from recent volcanoe seismic data, and it sounds like a beat. I guess Pele likes to get her groove on before sending molten rock into the air.
