As a truckdriver, I pass many interesting places, among those, churches. Most have got signs out front that contain thought-provoking sayings....I read one of those, and a song came a few days later.
A Child was born in Bethlehem,
All part of God's glorious plan,
To freedom from all sin,
That separated us from Him.
This Child would grow into a man,
Sacrifice all, for us, He'd stand,
Hung from a Cross upon a Hill,
But in His death, life would begin.
Because the Key to Heaven's Door,
Was hung upon a Nail.
Imagine how His Mother felt,
She watched the pain that He was dealt.
Almost too much for her to see,
What He went through for you and me,
He was her firstborn son,
Whom she had raised since He was young.
She stood aside as best she could,
Knew this was for the greater good.
Because the Key to Heaven's Door,
Was hung upon a Nail.
Painful nails put through His hands,
Two more went through His feet.
When He hung his head and died,
Our Salvation was complete.
I'm so glad that Satan lost the war,
On the day that Jesus died.
For He obeyed His Father's Will,
Oh, and He knew He could not fail.
Because the Key to Heaven's Door,
Was hung upon a Nail.
