Raised between South Carolina and Washington, DC definitely broadened the substance of Charles Jones, Jr. better known as C Jae. He spent his early years shuffling back and forth between the care of his grandfather (SC) and his mother (DC). To escape the ever-moving environment he would indulge himself in writing Hip-Hop rhymes. He reminisces the writings being a therapeutic release. And accounts his uncle teaching him how to perfect the newfound skill. He grew up in a family full of music lovers. On any given day you would find the Jones dancing around the house or breaking out in song. The exciting household motivated C Jae even more. Another talent C Jae mastered was basketball. Although he received a four-year scholarship, an unexpected knee injury rerouted his plans. Now he was back to his first love, music. C Jae was now permanently a DC resident and wanted to partake in the local Hip-Hop scene. He linked up with a few groups before becoming an artist with The Mid-East Music Group. When asked how he feels about his newest music family he said, "I feel comfortable with the label because they have my best interest at heart...that's what matters."
