Story behind the song
It's a four-verse hymn in long meter, double (LMD). I wanted to write a song based off the verse, "Lord, I believe. Help thou my unbelief."

Each verse deals with a different aspect:
1. Help me not to be governed by the shifting sand of my emotions.
2. Help me in the face of intellectual doubt.
3. Help me to trust You through my pain and loss.
4. Help me to trust You while witnessing the power and result of sin in the world.
