Story behind the song
I was handing out religious tracts in the winter of 1983 downtown Wash DC. I was walkin past a man on the sidewalk - and I said "How are you?" He passed by me a few steps then turned around and asked "Do you really care?" I turned and said "Yes sir I do." We sat and talked for awhile - It was my intention to teach that old guy somethin that day - as it turned out, I was student instead.
