Story behind the song
The first song on the album, it was also the first song written in January 2004-so just a simple ice breaker which turned into a strong melodic track. One of the few Sarah and I wrote in the same room. Something I've rarely done but seems to work well.
Lyrics
Cold Cold Day I woke up Then I changed my mind Closed my eyes Left the world behind And I'm dreaming You can't free me Only Dreaming Will the morning cheat me In a blazing dawn Babe I'm tired and I'm all alone And this road I'm walking On a Cold Cold day Every step i'm taking Takes me further away Don't know where I'm going Don't know if I'll stay Though the sun is smiling It's a cold cold day I let go Or at least I tried I don't know Was it just my pride And i'm screaming Won't you free me Softly screaming Can you still see through me But the sky looks torn Babe i'm tired and I can't find home
