Story behind the song
"Godman" was inspired by one of my oldest and best friends, Calvin Curry. The song is not particularly about him, but inspired by him. We used to go out and get wild a lot, then one day he called me up and told me that he had found God. It struck me as very odd, and really made me start thinking. I thought a lot about how many people around the are I grew up like to put on a fasade of being a "good Christian". Most of these people wouldn't give someone that looks as I do, the time of day. In my mind, regardless of your religious belief, you should be accepting of everyone until you have reason to not like them. Ha Ha
Anyway, the song is a sarcastic type song about people who feel like they will be taken care of because they go to Church, even though they are worse than anyone else every other day.
