Another friend of mine told me that this song speaks for itself. I told him that this song does not speak for itself, we have to sing it!

Story behind the song
I was working as a side man for a musician who has long since passed away, and we got into a conversation about "The Great Speckled Bird." this song is a result of that conversation.
Lyrics
The Great Speckled Waltz Charles W - T Consaul 1. Give that man in the corner a tall one Set a short on up also for me I'd switch places with him for that tall one But he needs it a lot worse than me 2. My friend he like whiskey and water My friend he likes whiskey that neat My friend, he likes whiskey to knock him out And keep him from falling asleep 3. Now his wife and his kids have all let him His farm has gone dead in the ground If it wasn't for his favorite barstool He'd have joined it on his fourteenth round 4. I am drinking tonight 'cause I'm lonely I am lonely 'cause I am a fool But at least I am not in that corner Paying rent on a dirty barstool 4. Now I don't have a tune to this song yet All I got are these foolish old words So I'll just follow Country tradition And I'll sing 'em to that Great Speckled Bird
