Story behind the song
This is a world famous "standard" easy listening song from the 1950s and 1960s which has been performed by thousands of artists and groups on radio and live and even in films. I have performed this since the 1970's when I performed this in Indianapolis, Indiana on piano for a special dinner event for a British General who came to visit here from London, England on official business with the U S Government at a Department of Defense agency I worked at then. I have perfomred this "live" in person a thousand times in rock bands I was in (JETSTREAM) and also at major national famous resorts in Scottsdale, Arizona area in the 1980s and in Indianapolis at country clubs and hotels and VIP events in 1991 and also I have performed this on west coast in Seattle area before also, live in concert. I love this as a great love song and super world class easy listening song for lovers worldwide, a true "fantasy dream song" about this guy's "dream " who is a mystery and unknown to him until she appears on the beach in Ipanema on coast of South America, a sandy beach she walks along the water toward him.
