Soundtrack to a childrens adventure story, each movement is a short example of some types of music commonly used in film scores.
I created this as a soundtrack to accompany a short story for children called 'Adventure in Shadow Woods'.
The piece is in five short 'movements':
1)Snow Fun (setting the scene - a winter landscape, music has dark undertones with thunder)
2) Entering Shadow Woods (representing disorientation / anticipation / trepidation as the children enter the woods)
3)Chasing Shadows (a chase scene!)
4) Found at Last! (lost children are found by their parents - victorious / heraldic music)
5) Safe and Sound (representing being safely back home - peaceful / gentle music with occasional reminders of the previous movements)
This piece was created using Sibelius score notation software, so it is in fact entirely in midi(with all it's limitations).
The process of converting midi to audio seems to compress the original sounds,so it is not as rich and full sounding as it should be for a full orchestral score.
