Story behind the song
Hmmm, I'm not sure...maybe the sense that I'm not very well understood.
Lyrics
The Old Rainman Well, I saw him in a desert, This old dude from outer space He had one eye in the heavens And the other in my face! Well, I took him for a simpleton, Yeah, he musta been a fool, I said, "Old man, what are you seeing!" He said, "Im seeing something true!" Chorus: "It's gonna rain!" I reached for an umbrella, He shouted out so loud, I said, "Creep me out, old fella, I can feel your thundercloud, But we we're standing in a desert, And the sky is blue not grey!" He just turned his cold eyes on me, And he shouted out again: Chorus: "It's gonna rain!" I noticed just behind him, This boat out in the sand, Clearly it was his boat, Clearly he was mad! So I took a big step backwards, And turned around to run! While he shouted like a madman, Beneath the blazing sun! Chorus: "it's gonna rain!" Now I wouldnt tell this story, But last evening there were clouds, And since five oclock this morning, The rains been pelting down, I remember what he yelled out, As I hear this torrents roar: You better come into the Ark, Before it starts to pour!
