When it comes right down to it - the bar's the place to be with your friends - drinking song; music and vocal Tony DeLecce, lyrics Dawn Sinclair, harmonies and a heck of a lot of other stuff besides, Jim DeLecce.
The words seemed to write themselves. It was finding the write musician to bring them alive that was the major factor. I sent the song to Tony and he came right back with the basic demo. I was amazed it was so different from how I'd imagined it, but tickled pink with his interpretation. When he got Jim involved in the project, I knew we were onto a winner so I just sat back and let them get on with it. I am thrilled with how it all turned out. TO BITZZZZ
V1
I guess I am the type of man
Who cannot keep a girl
They come, they go, a tidal flow
My head’s in such a whirl
I know I should be broken by
Rejection all the time
It might be bad, but I’m not sad
By midnight I’m sublime
and I'm drinking....
White lightning and jamaican rum
Tequila and some beers
They shielded me from truth,
When you walked out of here
White lightning and jamaican rum
Has got me on my knees
That's not the whole equation,
It's just part of the sum
and I'm drinking....
V2
Will someone please explain to me
What I am doing wrong
I buy girls rings and do those things
I’ve heard about in songs
But when it comes right down to it
I’d rather have a drink
Up at the bar, with friends who are
Too smashed to want to think
and I'm drinking....
chorus
and I'm drinking
