Notes: This is one that I wrote about how in my opinion, tha music business in Nashville is all screwed up.
Lyrics: Lately I've been thinking bout some things we need to change, With the way we make our music and what makes up the name. If we don't rock the boat well we sure cant make no waves. What we need is an outlaw to ride in and save the day.
Well there aint nothin different between now and years ago, when Ol' Waylon came to town and they told him to hit the road. They said your music isn't country, it's too much rock and roll, So he went back to Texas and politely stole the show.
What makes the music country aint the melody you play. It's about those shoes your standing in and what you've got to say. Lets get back to when the voice was more important than the face. What we need is an outlaw to ride in and save the day.
Johnny was a legend, the man in black stayed true to the music he was feeling, straight from him to you. While he collected grammy's Nashville looked the other way. They turned their backs on those that made them and lost the music in the trade.

Nashville's got a recipe to make themselves a star. A ken doll face and pro-tools will get you pretty far. If you look good in pictures, Well they'll take up the slack. You can lip sync the award shows and they'll pat you on the back.
