Story behind the song
Its about the new orleans hurricane. One night when I was on holiday I was sat on the beach. A woman walked past along the beach crying. She was holiday too but her friends and family at home in New Orleans had passed away. The chorus is basicaly saying would it have been better for her to die along side her family in the comfort of her own home or be thankfull that she wasnt there to witness the disaster in a country the other side of the world? -Aaran McKenzie
Lyrics
Everynight I heard the tieds of the sea, there calm and singing me to sleep. There coming in fast and I will hold my breath, for as long as I can. So make a wish upon a shooting star. We'll wish we'd drowned here tonight. Homesick angels are crying tonight, walking along the shoreline. Thier tear drops will fall into the tieds, we'll guide them home tonight. So make a wish upon a shooting star. We'll wish we'd drowned here tonight. So take my hand, we'll pray together on this broken shoreline. Just hoping God will answer our cries, and we wont miss the warning signs. Our wounded hearts will never heal, our shattered dreams will never fade. Of broken lives from the summer before, which i find so hard to explain. Our lives radiate throughout this night. Their never burning out under this moonlit summer sky. So make a wish upon a shooting star. We'll wish we'd drowned here tonight. So take my hand, we'll pray together on this broken shoreline. Just hoping God will answer our cries, and we wont miss the warning signs.
