Story behind the song
As we all know, there are millions of children all over the world who need our help, particularly in Africa etc.. However the plight of Romanian Orphans remains dear to my heart. Great friends of mine adopted a little girl some years ago, and Madi (pictured) is now a happy, thriving young woman with a degree. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ There are still many orphanages, many children being kept in despicable conditions. Some of the luckier ones are now either being fostered or placed back with their families and this long and hard process still requires help via the agencies concerned. I feel proud that for 10 years, the song has been on the "How you can help" page of the RELIEF FUND FOR ROMANIA WEBSITE http://www.relieffundforromania.co.uk/index.html The words and music were written by me, and MARIA DAINES kindly put the vocal track down. As Maria quite rightly says, music surely is one of the best ways to protest peacefully. In this case for all children to have their basic rights. Thanks a lot for reading this.
Lyrics
Picture what we wear, Its nothing like the brightly coloured Jeans and jackets that you wear over there, Picture what we eat, Often its just mashed potatoe, Cold tea and biscuit..for a treat, Thats how things really are, Thats how things really are, Bridge But small things and love are what we need, Yes, small things and love are what we need, And our smiles will soon be showing clear as day, Cause the trucks are on their way. Chorus Va-Rog, Va-Rog, Multumesc Multumesc Va-Rog, Va-Rog, Multumesc Multumesc Va-Rog, Va-Rog, Multumesc Multumesc Pose, Pose, Pose, Pose.
