My take on Booker White's hard driving anthem.
Always loved the tune, nothing swings like Bukka. Relaxed, yet hard driving, he comes on like a Mack truck or a force of nature - or both. He used to say that his tunes were just pulled out of the sky. I understand that as improvisation, and this kind of music has to rely heavily on just that as I see it. Without a strong element of improvisation and spontaneity, the blues dies a thousand painful deaths.
Bukkas lesson: Whatever you do, wing it, man, wing it!
Thank you Bukka.
