Story behind the song
When writing this song the image that came to me was ground zero with the smoke still rising, burned and broken steal getters protruding from the ashes. In the background Firemen and women, EMT's and Police officers coming out of the smoke and ashes with their rescue equipment in hand. They walked as warriors coming from a bitter battle where thousands of their brothers and sisters had died.
Our country had just been attacked for the first time in my lifetime. The world came to a standstill. As the United States stood up brushed themselves off from the ashes we then united in order to take the fight to our enemies, that perpetrated this horrific act against innocent men, women, and children.
In memory of all the surviving and fallen heroes, this song is for you.
