A song of comfort for the mother of the pilot of TWA flight 800, Written on the one year anniversary of his death.
This was written for a woman who attended one of my former church's who lost her son when the plane that he piloted (FLIGHT 800) was blown out of the sky unexpectantly.
WIPE AWAY THE TEARS
Lyrics by Peter Merz Music by Juan Tyus
When the night has fallen
And broken dreams are calling
Oh, and they're calling out to you
When the jigsaw's missing the piece
Leaving the puzzle incomplete
And you're denied peace of mind
And your memories are standing in another place in time
[chorus]
In the stillness of endless night
Where dreams take flight
There's a Redeeming Light
Jesus reaches out across the light-years
Touching you, holding you, promising you
Wipe away the tears
Total recall of when
What really mattered wasn't lost
Distant memories of when
No one could break the lock
That kept your dreams alive
But now a thief in the night
Has taken, he has taken them all away
Far away
[repeat chorus]
Standing there in remembrance of the day
When your hopes were blown away
And it seemed every dream had flown away
Tears mingled with bitter memories
They make it hard for you to see
Oh, and they cut you to the heart
[repeat chorus]
