A dreamy psychedelic tune musing on the whimsical uncertainty of spiritual truth.

While driving throught the West Texas desert, the word "yucca" naturally came to mind, and the tune in turn followed. In the course of writing the lyrics, I could find no better substitute phrase--the nonsense of it all seemed appropriate.
Life is short
And life is long.
It's a riddle we can't resolve.
Those who try
To find the reasons why
Get a puzzle that's never solved.
Yucca yucca yucca yucca...
There's an answer in the end.
If the kingdom you would enter,
Take yourself outside the center.
Do your bit to make it better.
Make an enemy a friend.
Every day
I hit my knees and pray
For an answer that won't confuse.
God holds out
And won't relieve our doubt.
Uninvested She's just amused.
Yucca yucca yucca yucca...
There's an answer in the end.
If the kingdom you would enter,
Take yourself outside the center.
Do your bit to make it better.
Make an enemy a friend.
Yucca yucca yucca yucca...
Everybody in this book-a
Has to muddle through alone.
I could drive into Paducah
With my yucca yucca yucca yucca,
Everybody take a look-a
There's a child who's got his own.
Yucca yucca yucca yucca...
Love's an answer in the end.
Don't let darkness be your trouble,
There's no need to burst your bubble,
Do your goodness on the double.
Make an enemy a friend.
