An energetic Pop/Rock song originally recorded and put on my Big Sleep page here on Soundclick way back in 2011. This is a revised version with me on lead vocals (The Big Sleep version featured Tony on lead vocals).
I recently discovered, much to my joy, that I still had the complete Adobe Audition 'session' of the song, Temptation, on one of my stand alone hard drives. I 'opened it up', again and made some adjustments and additions.
I've added a rocky guitar solo, which the original Big Sleep version lacked, and recorded my own vocal tracks.
It look a lot of work and time to re-align some tracks but eventually all that paid off. It feels fresh and exiting as it did when it was originally recorded.
For those of you who like to know these things ... the guitar solo was played on my (1999) Parker Fly through a Line 6 Pod Go unit. Bass was, as far as I recall, my Rickenbacker 4003 or the Crafter Cruiser, P Bass copy.
Many thanks go to my Big Sleep 'band-mate', Tony Webster, for his fantastic lyrics, musical vision and ideas that got this musical ball rolling all those years ago.
Temptation (Webster / Briggs) (c) 2025.
Intro:
Temptation, is a lonely thing. There is only you, who can bring.
lovely pleasure or vivid pain, let's go round, again and again,
Temptation, is a phoney game.
Temptation, is a lonely game, you play by yourself,
so who can blame, the woman or man who won't understand
desire, ambition go hand in hand,
Temptation, is a phoney game.
Stay hopeful, stay angry, stay wise enough to even care.
Temptation, is a funny thing, like waiting for a telephone to ring.
Who will call and reveal all, who's on the up and who will fall?
Temptation, makes us all so small.
