Story behind the song
Based on Luke 11. Christ told this parable, and a similar one in Luke 18, to encourage us to never give up when praying.

Ask, and it shall be given to you!
Seek, yes, seek and you shall find!
Knock, and the door is opened to you!
Everything, my brother, in God's good time!
Tell me what man of you,
Would go to a friend at midnight,
Calling, "Wake up friend! Give me 3 loaves of bread! Get out of bed"
His friend would call from within,
"Are you out of your head?
I'm fast asleep, in the morning I'll fetch some bread!"
But Christ said,
Ask, and it shall be given to you!
Seek, yes, seek and you shall find!
Knock, and the door is opened to you!
Everything, my brother, in God's good time!
But he keeps on knocking!
And he won't give up!
And he keeps on knocking again!
And his friend can't sleep;
So, he has to get up:
"Here's your three loaves of bread! Goin' back to bed..."
