Song about my bike crash verses a car
About me getting hit by a car riding my bicycle on the first day of my vacation...
VERSE I:
Drove nine-hundred miles down to Camp LeJeune
Arrived after two days drivin’ - not a moment too soon
Body’s stiff and sore - I’d been sittin’ for days
Take the bike off the Jeep - gotta shake the malaise
Set off for a ride - I’ll do many a mile
The bike path goes down - the whole barrier isle
Ten miles in - doing twenty miles an hour
Feelin’ good - Leg apply the power
CHORUS I:
Ridin’ my bike - Frees the mind
Stress is gone - Leave it behind
Legs pumping - Now unconfined
Heart beating - Stars aligned
VERSE II:
Ten miles in and I’m feeling fine
Weather’s warm and the day’s benign
In a split second I’m on my back
Buick Enclave turned in my path
Knee shoulder hip and helmet hit him broadside
The dent I left was epic in size
Helmet vs car - no cracked skull but in a daze
I guess this vacay’s gone a bit sideways
CHORUS II:
Ridin’ my bike - Frees the mind
Stress is gone - Leave it behind
Legs pumping - Now unconfined
Head is throbbing - Cloudy mind
BRIDGE:
[Guitar Solo]
VERSE III (SHORT):
Fuzzy headed bike looked fine - I decide to go
Got their insurance took some pics - and rode away
At the rental cooling down, soreness turns to outright pain
Call their carrier to make a claim - vacation goes down the drain.
