Country Ballad about 2 lovers being away from each other and still trying to keep the flame alive.
Sharon wrote the lyrics and I wrote the music. We wrote this song in 2001 just before 9/11 and after those events this song took on a whole new meaning. Alot of people that have family in the military can relate to this song and that's what makes it so powerful.
Verse 1
She turns down the covers, and slips into bed
There’s a picture of him beside her
Where he should be instead
Soon that phone will ring
And she knows it will be him
He’ll whisper sweet things in her ear
While the stars listen in
Chorus
Long Distance Lovers, Cannot be denied
Though their faith is strong, They still have needs inside
Like a touch and a kiss, It’s the little things they miss
They try hard to keep their love alive
In each other’s arms is where they both belong
And when it feels this right Lord knows it can’t be wrong
Long Distance Lovers, trying to hold on
Verse 2
Now the nights can seem so cold
When he’s not holding her
He longs to hear her voice
Hungers for her every word
He still needs her kisses
And God knows it’s been awhile
But when their dreams meet
Then they’ll be together ‘cross the miles
Repeat Chorus
Bridge
Each mornin’ she prays for the calls to end
Cause that’ll be the day he’s in her arms again
