Aftermath of the Storm

There's still love left to give....in the aftermath of the storm. Written in 92', this version recorded in 2010. I have never performed this song live and may never, but who knows.

Just a middle aged singer/songwriter sharing the work.
Hobbyist singer/songwriter/guitarist who's been quiet for 10 years. Decided to get the songs out there now. Had dreams of the big time, but know it isn't going to happen now and that's okay. I still love music, writing and recording and want to share my work with people.

Story behind the song
There's still love left to give...in the aftermath of the storm.
Lyrics
Hear the sound of rain Falling down on the rooftop Hear the thunder as it roars Through the night Thoughts of you deep down Within the very depths of my heart And a vision of you in my mind To love someone is to be set free From a self-made prison cell We build up all the barriers Don't let anyone else in Fear that we may just get hurt again In the aftermath of the storm Like a sweet breath of spring I'm given peace and then I'm sure That a lifetime's not meant To be some kind of a waste And there's still love left to give In the aftermath of the storm Through all the confusion It's easy to sit back and say That it's not worth all the hassles All the struggle and strain But deep within your heart You know what's got to be done Can't deny your feelings Can't live life on the run In the aftermath of the storm Like a sweet breath of spring I'm given peace and then I'm sure That a lifetime's not meant To be some kind of a waste And there's still love left to give In the aftermath of the storm From out of nowhere you came to me Is this some form of Serendipity From out of nowhere you came to me Is this some form of Serendipity Hear the sound of rain Falling down on the rooftop Hear the thunder as it roars Through the night Thoughts of you deep down Within the very depths of my heart And a vision of you in my mind....tonight ******************************************* August 1992, downtown London, Ontario, Canada

Superb vocals, very expressive with a fantastic timbre. Love the melody, great lyrical sentiments. This song is instantly likeable, it engages with the audience right away. A definite hit.
