Communists on the Water words and music by Roy Williams © 2011 Looked out at the sea one day, saw something strange sailing my way Looked like a fleet of little boats I said Bobby quick come see, tell me have gone crazy but i think they're getting a little close It was mostly rafts and a few old ramshackle crafts We could hear their laughing and singing from the coast Chorus And There's communists on the water, the party just got a hotter They say What's yours is mine, so let's put it all together and have a good time They say What's mine is yours, welcome from our friendly shores Looks like there's communists on the water About 90 miles south of here, the sand is white and the water is clear The girls MMMMMMMMM they are all golden tan They been rockin that party since 59, Cuba Libre's make a really good time And They got themselves that cee-gar smoking man Ain't got no rich ain't got no poor, don't need no possessions no more It's a real party for the common man Chorus Bridge We drank rum and a sang all day, Had the finest smoke I gotta say Bobby fell in love a couple times Those Comrade senoritas are really fine I think I got in-doc-trin-ated Certainly I got in-tox-i-cated With those communists on the water I woke up they were sailing away, wasn't much left that I could say Except adios.......mis Comrades I look south across the sea today, especially on the fist of May and I smile at the fun we had Chorus With those communists across the water, where the party is hotter They say What's yours is mine, so let's put it all together and have a good time They say What's mine is yours, welcome to our friendly shores I sure miss, those communists, across the water

Roy My Man, that song is way cool! Somehow you managed to sound a whole lot like Jimmy Buffett and nothing like Jimmy Buffett in the same song. Like Eric, I grew up in Miami, although a little earlier in time :) . . . . and I remember the many 'invasions' very well. As a result, this song really resonated with me. Very well done!
