Story behind the song
When i started recording the album the song "Breakthrough" had not yet been written. In fact the titled of the album was already decided and it was going to be the lead single titled "Jesus Loves You" However, as the recording sessions moved on God gave me a new song one day while i was on the keyboard writing string arrangements for another song. It just came out of no where!!! I knew it was from the lord and that he wanted me to put it on this album. I laid down all of the music parts within about 3 hours and wrote the lyrics last. After i titled the song "Breakthrough" i knew immediately that i had to change the titled of the Cd. That one word just stood out to me even though it was not the strongest song on the Cd. The encouraging message in the lyrics is what convinced me to re-title the Cd at the last minute. God was talking to people through this song and i felt it in my spirit! The track was finished and mixed, but i kept hearing in my head a Fender Rhodes sound in the song... So i took my nephew "(Tierre, A Great Keyboardist)" into the studio and told him exactly how i wanted him to play the chords on the Fender Rhodes Keyboard. Now the song was finished the way i heard it in my head! It has become the favorite song on the Cd of many people.
