Traditional country ballad
I wrote this song for my Mom after we had a fight one night. I was being a stubborn and hardheaded teenager and we went to bed angry at each other. I felt guilty for getting angry with her and this song just started flowing out of me. I thought about everything she had been thru in her life and how hard it must have been to raise 3 teenage boys on her own and this is my tribute to her. It bonded us for life!
Verse 1
Look up Mama and tell me what is wrong
I know why you’re crying because your man is gone
But Mama don’t you worry cause he’ll be back someday
As soon as he remembers what he’s thrown away
Verse 2
Once you made a promise that you vowed not to break
You swore that you would love him no matter what it takes
But now your heart is broken and your world has turned to blue
But he’s the one who lost it all when he walked out on you
Chorus
So Mama Don’t Cry cause he ain’t worth your tears
And the pain you’ve had to go through for loving all these years
Just remember that I love you when you dry your eyes
And I’ll be here to hold you so Mama Don’t Cry
Verse 3
Well I know you’ll find a new love and he’ll be good to you
And he’ll give you all the loving that you never knew
I know that you loved him and that he broke your heart
But Mama please stop cryin’ cause it’s tearing me apart
Repeat Chorus
Tag
Just remember that I love you when you dry your eyes
And I’ll be here to hold you so Mama Don’t Cry
