Story behind the song
This is my tribute to "the worst film director in the world"; yeah, his films sucked, but you've got to admire his relentless passion to be creative and his ingenuity in getting his films made.
Lyrics
I have a vision baby, I have a dream I see a new world made of card and plastecine I see space ships complete with child-proof caps I see tin-foil dubloons and tea-stained treasure maps Backdrops of stars, the planet Mars, hanging there in space All held up with wires and reams of sticky tape And from this tub of water, rise monsters from the deep It's the magic of the movies, suspend your disbelief Dreamers, schemers, losers - these people are my friends Each plays their part with all their heart, we're in it till the end We're all telling stories, we're all chasing dreams In our heads, we're winners: one day the world will see Guess there's no escape from the drive to create We have to make our mark, we have to alter this state You can mock and titter at these efforts of mine But I don't really mind cos at least I'm tryin'
