Story behind the song
This is a very special song because of the way it was written in 1983. Our band "Fire Power" was rehearsing as we always did on Saturday, and between songs sometimes we would just Jam for a few minutes or toy around with riffs and melodies that we were working on individually. On this particular day Alfred happen to be playing the melody to "Here's A Song" and as soon as he played the first few chords on the keyboard, i said "WHAT IS THAT? He replied, it's a little something i was working on but i haven't come up with any words yet except for "Here's A Song to brighten up your day" so i said, play it and i will record it on the tape recorder and take it home. I'll have the words to this in no time! Well, the following rehearsal the lyrics were finished! It sounded so beautiful and magical to us that we decided to record it for the first album. I wanted the song to speak and minister to the broken, the discouraged, the weary and burdened down of this world. It was a gift from us to our audience, to give them a song that was just for them that would carry them through all of their dilemma's!
