Slow mellow tear jerking ballad with beautiful melodies and harmonies! A song designed to encourage and uplift the human spirit that has become weary. Great composition with a vintage, classical sound. Hooky and has mass appeal and therapeutic!
This is a very special song because of the way it was written in 1983. Our band "Fire Power" was rehearsing as we always did on Saturday, and between songs sometimes we would just Jam for a few minutes or toy around with riffs and melodies that we were working on individually. On this particular day Alfred happen to be playing the melody to "Here's A Song" and as soon as he played the first few chords on the keyboard, i said "WHAT IS THAT? He replied, it's a little something i was working on but i haven't come up with any words yet except for "Here's A Song to brighten up your day" so i said, play it and i will record it on the tape recorder and take it home. I'll have the words to this in no time! Well, the following rehearsal the lyrics were finished! It sounded so beautiful and magical to us that we decided to record it for the first album. I wanted the song to speak and minister to the broken, the discouraged, the weary and burdened down of this world. It was a gift from us to our audience, to give them a song that was just for them that would carry them through all of their dilemma's!
( 1st Verse )
From the rising of the sun until the day s completely done
we're to praise his holy name give praise to him
sing unto him a new song that's filled with cheer
you'll find new strength to face the day don't be dismayed
for he knows what we're going through down here
and we know that we don't have nothing to fear
we should never fear
( Chorus )
here's a song ooh ooh to brighten up your day
here's a song ooh ooh to show a better way
here's a song ooh ooh to brighten up your day
here's a song ooh ooh to show a better way
( Bridge )
here's a song for you to sing come on and sing along
glory to his holy name the holy name of God
hallelujah we do sing we have a song for everyday
so come on and lift your voice and sing this praise
( 2nd Verse )
when you feel you can't go on just want to hide your face and run
the world it seems so cold and you find you just can't cope
that's when you start to sing glory to the holy king
i joyfully will sing to him oh praise the king
for he knows what we're going through down here
and we know that we don't have nothing to fear
we should never fear
( Chorus )
here's a song ooh ooh to brighten up your day
here's a song ooh ooh to show a better way
here's a song ooh ooh to brighten up your day
here's a song ooh ooh to show a better way
( Bridge )
here's a song for you to sing come on and sing along
glory to his holy name the holy name of God

so come on and lift your voice and sing this praise
