An Instrumental Song Written For & Dedicated To Earth Day 2015 (April22) The World Is Not Made Just For You & Me! Every year on April 22, over a billion people in 190 countries take action for Earth Day. http://www.earthday.org
Like Earth Days of the past, Earth Day 2015 will focus on the unique environmental challenges of our time. One of the focuses in 2015 is saving The Asian elephant, once prevalent throughout many areas of India, is now listed as an endangered species by the Indian Government and included on
the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List. The factors leading to steep population declines in all five major elephant habitats include: rapid human population growth that has resulted in shrinking habitat; major reductions in elephant “exclusive zones” and elephant “buffer zones;” and increased human-elephant conflicts, including poaching and an
extraordinary increase in railway accidents, resulting from an Indian government decision to increase the range, size, and speed of railways throughout the elephants’ habitat.
As the global organizer behind Earth Day, Earth Day Network creates tools and resources for you to get involved with Earth Day in your community. Here’s how you can participate: http://www.earthday.org/
