You KNOW that was the political version. LaDeana Michelle got the song idea from a real past experience. We won't tell who the deejay was (never that) but back in the day, a rather famous radio deejay was spinning at her local hometown club. She was there with her five best friends (she still has) and she dug the deejay and wanted to get at him. Plain and simple, it started with a crush, grew into a relationship, then remained a friendship. Who IS this famous personality?
