Born in 1935, Paul Thompson began playing the guitar at age 12. He wrote his own songs; both the words and music and began playing clubs, rodeos and fairs in Texas and Louisiana in 1955. Several 45's were recorded over the years and in 1985 his album 'Home Grown Country' was recorded on cassette in a Tyler, Texas studio. The Other Side Of Lonesome band was originated in 2010 after recording my first album. Each of us have played for many years with various bands. As I recorded my album, I called upon these guys to give me a hand with it. It turned out that we enjoyed it so much, we wanted to keep it going. The band consists of Roy Rogers on lead guitar and synthesizer, Wayne Morton on steel guitar, Benny Kubiak on fiddles, David McKnight on drums, and myself on bass and lead vocals.
