The word band, for me, could be a little misleading.  I bill myself as a solo quartet.  I do all the tracks, lay them down, and then play live with it giving the sound of anywhere from 4 to 10 instruments playing.  I have done over 30,000 arrangements this way and over 100 original pieces..jazz, Latin, ballads.  I have now completed a muscial/lyrical story and work...
