Since then, the band has transformed from a brass band to a military band before assuming its present form as a concert band. The DeWitt Wind Ensemble was created under the guidance of the DeWitt High School Director of Bands, Michael Norman, in 2004. The ensemble is composed of all high school students who rehearse as an extra curricular throughout the school year.
