I have asked some of my artist friends to tell me what they think of my songwriting. Below are the inputs I have received: (I will add to the blog as I receive more): Note: I do have co-writers for almost every song I have written. These songwriters are very talented, and I recognize that I could not have written these songs without them. (Maty Eitner, DeAnn Sanders, Andrea Crimmins, Peter Renfree, Rickey Bailey, Ron Silverlight, Pamela Davidson, Tom Payne, Ted Tomiuk & Cyndi McKeever, and Nicole McKenzie) I haven't met David James but, thanks to MySpace and some mutual friends, I like what I'm hearing of him. "Yellow Brick Road," in particular, cuts right to the emotional chase, a contemporary snapshot of a timeless human drama. You feel its pain deeply. David also mentors and supports young up-and-comers, a process I advocate and admire. This is one of the good guys! Larry Wayne Clark, Songwriter/Music Journalist, Nashville, Ontario, Canada Larry co-wrote "Drinkin' Me Lonely" with Nashville Star, Chris Young "Back when we were looking for songs, my manager who also produced me brought me some of the songs that he felt had some real potential to not only fit me as an artist but stylistically something that followed the lines of country to country outlaw that could lend itself to commercial radio play.....it seems to me that David's song; "What Can I Say" fit nicely to what we had already cut ....thanks for the great song David, looking to hear more songs from you in the future!" Gene Bowshier, Singer, Springfield, OH (Manager - Jerry Adams) "David's writing is very rare. He can get a detailed story out in a song while still using smooth lyrics. Sometimes detailed songs don't always flow as well, but his do! Not only are the stories great, but the music is very fitting to the lyrics as well. The melodies are strong, and I enjoy listening to each song, because they are all so different." Kristen McNamara, Singer/Songwriter/Actress -Top 6, Nashville Star, Nashville "David James shows that you don't have to live in Nasvhille, TN to craft a beautiful song. He uses his skills as a story teller to reel the listener in and unites the lyrics with unique melodies to really capture the spirit of his idea. I always look forward to listening to his new tunes!" Jamie Fox, Singer/Songwriter, Nashville "It was so awesome to meet you in person during this years Fan Fair ... I love your music, you have a passion and a natural flare for songwriting....I'm partial to HANK ON THE RADIO ... keep on rockin' David!" Natalie Howard, Singer/Songwriter, Nashville "David James is a complete songwriter with a poetry skill that many songwriters spend a lifetime trying to develop. Each song gives the singer and listener a touch of country class; also being unique in their very own ways. You can draw a connection to every song, and that's what people want in Country music. "Sweet Little Pony Of Mine" is the best example of the talent David James possesses, and someday we'll see his name on the same list as songwriters like Dean Dillon and Jeffrey Steele." Paul Cummings, Singer/Songwriter, Bergan, New York "David James is a very talented songwriter....turning everyday ideas into masterpieces! When young Maty Eitner wanted to write a song about her beloved horse, David stepped in and took her words to a whole new level....thus creating a very special tune to be proud of and one that Maty will be forever grateful for !" Traci Kennedy - Nashville recording artist from St. Thomas, Ontario Canada
